Wild and free - easy acces Kiiminkijoki
The Kiiminkijoki River allows free migration for fish populations. The river runs from the town Puolanka, through Utajärvi and parts of the city of Oulu: Ylikiiminki, Kiiminki and Haukipudas to the Bay of Bothnia. The whole body of water is conserved in the Natura conservation program, belongs to the international research program Project Aqua and is protected by the national law of rapid protection. Also the river marks the south border of reindeer herding in Finland.
